澳大利亚的签证不分旅游和探亲，都是同一种签证，Tourist Visa。（http://www.immi.gov.au/visitors/tourist/）
没有极其特殊情况的话，是不允许境内续签的。

如果有这个条款的话，续签是极其困难的。除非有特殊原因比如身体状况不允许乘坐飞机离开澳洲。

探亲签证有很多种，Sponsored Family Visitor (subclass 679)只是其中一种。强烈建议不要申请这种。我曾经申请过2次这种，这个是在澳洲境内递交的，准备文件超级麻烦，有时候需要interview，还要交1万澳币保证金，审批时间很长，有一次用了4个月。

如果来探亲的话，还是申请Tourist Visa (Subclass 676)，从国内的使领馆审批，1周时间就批。
