[size=1.2em]The Australian Workers' Union (AWU) is backing Deputy Prime Minister Julia Gillard to take over the Labor Party's leadership.
[size=1.2em]A senior source told AAP on Wednesday night that the AWU had switched their support from Prime Minister Kevin Rudd to Ms Gillard.
[size=1.2em]Ms Gillard is meeting with Mr Rudd and senior Labor ministers as speculation of a leadership spill mounts.
