DOG GROOMER TRAINEE (Full Time or Part Time)

We are seeking two Groomer trainees tojoin our friendly team based on the Southern Pet Grooming Store. We areexpanding and we need to add to our team by potentially two trainees, eitherway we are extremely busy, so what are you waiting for? It's more about beingtrained in an established routine, we pride ourselves in a unique approach.

We pride ourselves on therelationships we form with our clients and on delivering high quality pet carein a friendly and approachable environment taking time with the dog to build atrusting relationship. We are ideally looking to fill this role after a trialperiod, but may be flexible to consider part time or full-time employment forthe right candidate.

You need to be confident in allaspects of grooming, including breed clips and definitely not be afraid of thehard work involved in the busy times of year, knowing that things relax in thequieter months, at those times we will do more training. All grooming equipmentis provided but you are welcome to bring your own if you prefer.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

·         Willingness to be taught by a grooming professional atthe beginning.

·        Proven confidence and the capability to handle a varietyof dogs. Physically able to meet the demands of the role – we certainly getdogs in all sizes!

·        Demonstrated experience in grooming all dogs from regular'pet clips' to breed specific clips.

·        Patience and compassion.

·        Friendly and outgoing with a positive can do attitude

·        Excellent communication skills and a good sense of humour.

·        Organised, motivated and efficient with attention todetail

·        Willing to show initiative and be passionate and proud oftheir work.

·        Ability to work Saturday and Sunday, as required.

You will need to ability to workunsupervised. Be enthusiastic about developing ongoing relationships withclients and building and promoting our grooming service.

As part of the process you will beasked to 56 hour grooming trial on February 2017. Be a team player and enjoy your day. Be ableto be shown new techniques to the right person you will be trained in acompletely different way. What I want is a commitment to join the team longterm.
