The line graph gives an overview about water use worldwide by three different sections. And the table shows water consumption in Brazil and Congo in 2000.
As can be seen from the graph, water use by industry and domestication during a 40-year period from 1900 to 1940 had been increasing slightly from nearly 100 km3 to 200 km3 and from 0 km3 to 100 km3 respectively. The next 60 years, however saw a moderately growth in the usage of water by industry. In 2000, industrial usage of water climbed to above 1,000 km3. During the same period, water use by agriculture rise sharply to approximately 3,000 km3. In general, water use by agriculture always the most of three from 1900 to 2000. In 2000, exactly 3,000 km3 water had been used by agriculture. In the same year the population in Brazil and Congo reached 176 million and 5.2 million respectively. Congo tend to be better with low water consumption per person(8 m2) than those in Brazil(359 m2).
Overall the table suggests that irrigated land in Brazil(26.5 km2) much more than that in Congo(100 km2). |
