as far as i know, PR = Citizen in terms of employment opportunities, different story for other visasi am a malaysian too, considering giving up my passport...u know the reasons
but i can say, 99 out of 100 my malaysian friends i know don't give up...i thikn kindda stupid, given that we 'chinese' are considered not imporant

cool , you from msia too?? which part? I am from KL. I know, is not about my friend. Is more like my family, my dad, he doesnt want me to give up my passport~ haha. And when it come to government work, you must be a citizen, permanent resident mean nothing for them unfortunately...

What a shame, it's been closed when I saw this. Otherwise, I could have referred this opportunity to my student.

Lacking of practical skills are the main reason for graduates who can not secure accounting jobs, not really about the visa status as lots of my students don't have PR but can get accounting jobs. Only because they are accounting practical skilled. It's important.

Have applied last week but no response yet Got an interview tomorrow not an accounting job though.
It is a Shipping Officer position, deal with export and import. Pretty junior position, hopefull the pay won't be too bad.

hahaha...will you do the same thing if u can get ur citizen? :P Well I still got 6 month to think if i want to extend my pr or just get my citizen lol

malaysia no hope...you decide which country offers you 'hope'
i have been living overseas for 15 years, still holding MY passport
but never ever thought of going back, so what's the point holding it.

WOw. Do you mean you been living in aus for 15 yrs? If so, how could you havent find a job yet? Or you did probably I forget~
If you havent even think of going back, y wont you change to aus passport lol..since u already been oversea for 15 yrs anyway~

i lived in NZ prior to moving to BNE in 2005.
I did not say i had not found a job la. in fact, i was employed before i graduated.

i became NZ PR, and now OZ PR................the issue of getting OZ citizenship never came up...but pretty useless holding MY pasport........need to keep updating my NZ and OZ PRs........
