昆州成澳洲肥胖人数最多地区 三分之二公众超重或肥胖

昆州已经成为澳洲最肥胖的州府，其农村地区的肥胖状况已经达到警戒水平。澳洲医学协会（AMA）称，昆州三个人中就有两人是超重或者肥胖。在Townsville和Mackay，75%的人口超重。

在Darling Downs，超重人数占70%，并不比昆州中部的情况更为乐观。

年龄在45岁到65岁的男性更有可能抽烟和酗酒。

周五，澳洲医学协会的昆州会长Shaun Rudd博士发起了减轻负荷（Lighten the Load campaign）的倡议活动，试图降低超重和肥胖带来的健康风险。

“当你变胖后，你很容易会出现包括糖尿病，心脏病，肾病在内的慢性健康问题。”Rudd博士称。

他称，现在，体重超重就是昆州过早死亡和残疾的主要原因。

“据估计，每年，肥胖会直接耗掉澳洲卫生系统约20亿元的成本。那些面临肥胖问题的人比有健康的身体体重的人要支付高出30%的医疗费用。”Rudd博士称。

44%的人更有可能死于心脏病
