之前加盟了一个清洁公司，由于近期清洁员工做的质量问题，导致我们丢失一个很重要的活儿，造成近3，4万/年损失，所以我们扣押了部分员工工资。如果对方去fair work投诉我们还需要赔偿吗？

加盟清洁一年以来，我们并没有恶意扣押过员工工资，都是准时发工资的，这次的确是因为情况特殊，对方给我们造成了很大损失，所以想咨询一下这种情况应该怎么处理。

你身为清洁公司的负责人，你是有责任去监管清洁的质量，并培训专员人员，和定时监察清洁的程序。因为员工工作水准不到位，而导致损失清洁合同，你只可以解决这个纠纷，严重的话，包括开除。但是在任何情况之下，绝对不可以扣押员工的工资作为赔偿。这样做是属于非法的行为。员工一旦入禀劳工处，你除了要交还员工的应有薪金外，还要缴付一笔罚款。
所谓：“力不到，不为财”。世上没有一个行业是不需要去监督，而可以拿取利润的。
因此，我希望你能够明白到，责任是在你招聘适当的员工，加以培训，并定时做出工作的监督检查，以保障工作的质量，这样公司才可以运作下去的。
