rapid bay is heaven for squid, when I was young I caught my fair share there

they are not taking the lure is a few reasons. if the squid is small and the lure is big. or that the water is VERY clear and you can see the bottom of  the sea, the squid  will be staying on the bottom, and very careful of the lure specially if your lure is on  shellow water
