游泳是一项可锻炼全身肌肉的极佳运动。据美国《医药日报》3月27日报道，澳大利亚一项新研究发现，游泳还可增加大脑血流量，有益大脑的健康。


新研究中，西澳大利亚大学体育科学学院的霍华德.卡特博士及其同事让一组健康男性参试者站在一个空池子中，身体尽可能保持不动。经过10分钟充分休息后，3个水泵以恒定速率向池子中注入30℃的温水，直到水位达到参试者右心房水平为止。之后，研究人员让参试者在水中活动，这些活动不一定是游泳，包括在水中行走等其他有氧活动，并利用经颅多普勒检查机测量了参试者大脑血流速度。该仪器发出的超声波可记录脑动脉血流速度。


研究人员还测量了参试者动脉中二氧化碳和血压的变化情况，以确定可能导致大脑血流量变化的因素。结果发现，当参与者浸在水里时，大脑中动脉血流量增加了14%，大脑后动脉血流量增加了9%。


卡特博士及其研究小组还正在进行一项为期6个月的新研究，旨在对比分析水中运动训练和陆上运动项目分别对大脑血流量情况的影响。研究人员表示，水下运动有助于改善血管健康，提高认知能力。接下来，他们还将探索哪种水下运动方式是最有益大脑及全身健康的。这些运动形式包括水中有氧运动和游泳等，但无论何种运动，水中运动的效果明显更好。
