上次我们介绍悬吊系统时提到了弹簧与避震器 ，这二样是悬吊系统中最重要的部件，因此，今天我们就来简单介绍一下弹簧和避震器它们各自所负责的工作。首先来介绍弹簧，悬吊弹簧在汽车的悬吊系统中扮演着负责承受车子重量、载重量、吸收并消除因路面起伏而造成的车辆震动以增加车辆行驶时的舒适性。

片状悬吊弹簧

汽车依悬吊装置的不同而有许多不同类型的弹簧，近代的车辆则以片状弹簧、圈状弹簧、扭力杆弹簧及空气弹簧居多。片状弹簧：这种弹簧是由4到最多15片，厚约6～12mm的有弹性长型鐡片所迭置并用钢板夹固定而成，使弹簧片在弯曲时不易断裂，这种弹簧靠二端的吊耳安装在车架上，依靠板片的弹性和各板片间的摩擦逹到减震的效果。其优点是结构简单，成本低，不过片状悬吊弹簧容易使车身摇动，在操控和舒适性上表现较差，因此大多使用在中大型货车的后方悬吊上。

圏状悬吊弹簧

圈状弹簧：这种弹簧是现今轿/跑车上使用多的弹簧，它的外型和弹簧床内的弹簧一样，只是使用在车上的弹簧比较大比较粗壮弹性也硬很多，一般这种圈状弹簧都是围绕着避震器，然后安装在上控制臂和下控制臂之间，但有些圈状弹簧则是与避震器分开设置的。使用圈状弹簧的车辆在乘坐舒适比片状弹簧好，噪音也较小，不过圈状弹簧本身无法承受横向的力量，因此需靠避震器或连杆来支撑。

扭力杆悬吊弹簧

扭力杆弹簧：这是一种简单、体积小的弹簧设计，大多是运用在越野车上，扭杆是由钢材制成，其一端连接固定在车架上，另一端连结到轮轴的下控制臂上，当车轮/控制臂上升时，会迫使扭力杆扭转变形吸收冲击能量，并产生和弹簧类似的抵抗阻力来抵抗车轴的上下运动。不过现今扭力杆式弹簧在汽车悬吊系统之中大多被用来辅助受力及做为防倾杆之用了。

空气悬吊弹簧

空气弹簧：空气弹簧是利用气体装入软性容器（通常为橡胶材质）后的可压缩性来取代金属弹簧作为减震之用，而这种弹簧设计大多使用在高级车款或是高级大巴士上。空气弹簧的弹性是由计算机来控制，透过传感器侦测车辆的行驶状况而进行增加气体或是减少气体的调节，让车辆在行驶时能逹到最好的舒适性。空气弹簧除了能调整弹性之外，有些使用空气弹簧的悬吊系统还可进行车身高度的调整。
