Your duties and responsibilities will be:
1. At least 5 years of experience of being a careers consultant
2. Ability to speak Mandarin
3. Ability to form good relationships with education institutions, students and their parents
Job descriptions:
1. Undertaking research of various education providers in Australia;
2. Consulting with international students to develop study plans taking account of their ability, preference, and industry shortages in Australia;
3. Advising international students on various careers option and job prospects with different study options prior to them lodging student visa application;
4. Assessing international students’ personal characteristics, skills and interests via one-to-one interviews and/or group sessions;
5. Providing appropriate help, advice and recommendations based on interviews/test results;
6. Running careers workshops for international students;
7. Offering practical assistance with job-seeking, applications/CVs and interviews;
8. Administering and interpreting psychometric and personality tests;
9. Helping international students to solve problems and manage their own careers;
10. Aiding international students in their search for appropriate employment;
11. Writing action plans, reports and careers literature;
12. Counselling international students that are suffering from stress or facing redundancy/redeployment;
13. Providing information to international students with further options to study in Australia if they have difficulty in finding their desired employment in Australia
14. Assisting international students’ parents and family to understand their study and career choice, and manage their attitudes and expectations
15. Instructing international students in the preparation of application for academic institution as well as student visa materials in Australia
16. Undertaking general administration;
17. Marketing and promoting careers counselling services at careers expo etc.
